Yet, Apple has exclusively kept the technology within the Apple Ecosystem. Well, that would also mean even programs that run on different platforms including Android will be used in conjunction with FaceTime. What does that mean? It would mean developers would be able to create third-party software and/or apps that would allow them to use FaceTime on Windows. Interestingly, when Steve Jobs, the late CEO of Apple, introduced FaceTime in 2010, he openly said that it was going to be an open industry standard. Not to be so technical but did you know FaceTime utilizes end-to-end encryption with 256 bits? It simply means it is much harder to hack compared to other means. But why are people still obsessing with this video-call app when there's a lot of alternatives available in the app market? Because it is arguably true that FaceTime offers one of the most secure ways of communication and offers a better video quality than most apps. Unfortunately, did you know that there is no way for Windows users to use FaceTime on their device? And yes, not even emulators would work! Since FaceTime was developed by Apple, this video and audio communication software can be used on Apple devices only, including iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
